How prepared is your organisation to support Mental Health in the workplace?

OPA Health deliver the internationally recognised training from Mental Health England to support your organisation to look after the mental health of your employees. The approach is supported by the HSE as a measure that companies can take to address mental ill health in the workplace.

Practical Training

According to MIND, it is estimated that 1 in 4 people will experience mental ill health at some point each year, costing UK employers up to £56 billion each year. It is hard to dispute the scale and severity of mental ill health in today’s climate and it is likely that your employees will be affected at some point by mental health issues, personally, or through work, through a family member, friend or colleague. It is therefore important that organisations take steps to support their staff in a working context.

Mental Health First Aid is a two-day training course which can assist your staff with practical skills to apply both in the workplace and in their personal lives. This training course includes;

  • being able to spot signs and symptoms of poor mental health
  • knowing where and when to signpost to get help
  • being able to support in a mental health crisis, including when someone feels suicidal
  • develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe.

Promoting this course demonstrates commitment to positive mental health in the workplace and your organisation can proudly attach the Mental Health England logo to their documentation.
