OPA Health can offer online, telephone or on-site DSE assessments where an employee has identified a health issue associated with the work station they are using.
Under The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations employers are required to protect workers from health risks associated with working with display screen equipment (DSE) including laptops, PCs, tablets and smartphones. This legislation applies to workers who use DSE daily, for a continuous period of one hour or more.
This is often undertaken through the completion of a DSE risk assessment checklist with action taken locally to any identified concerns. Nominated DSE assessors in the workplace can help with this, however, if there are persistent or unresolved health concerns, OPA Health can provide an in depth medical DSE assessment.
Our DSE assessment includes a 1:1 evaluation of the workstation, the DSE user’s general health, working equipment and wider working environment. Following assessment, OPA Health will provide a report with recommended adjustments and suggestions regarding equipment (if applicable).
